OK....a little off topic, I know,

Last Sunday, I had my M6TTL sell to a guy in France. I usually don't allow bidders from outside the U.S., but this guy was communicative and up front and had at least one positive feedback from a sale in his own country. He is having trouble getting a code or something from Paypal. He is not asking for any "red-flag" waving concessions, what else can I do to get payment if not paypal?

Outside the US, you have to have your credit card varified by Paypal to open an account, which sounds fine, except you cant get the verification number until you get your credit card statement, which might take a while.
Paypal in Europe dont make this very clear, and you dont really find out until you have opened the account.
You could ask the seller to send you an E cheque?
If not, then either wait until he has been verified or withdraw the sale.
 
do a wire transfer only. do not accept any bank checks as those could be recalled even *after* they've been deposited to your bank.

i've been dealing in watches a lot and for international wire transfer is the only way i deal and is a standard. do not accept anything else. it'll cost him about $20 and you about the same, depending on your bank.

wire transfer is the way to go.
try to give him as much information as possible, for instance the BIC code of your bank and IBAN number of your account. This will make it easier and cheaper for him to pay.
 
id go with wire transfer as suggested, and STAY AWAY from western union or money orders and the rest. Paypal is fine if th user is already verified, but doesnt sound like this is the case.
 
There is nothing wrong with a Postal money order. One of the oldest,
cheapest and most reliable ways to transfer money. I have received
them in the US from both Europe and Asia and they work well.

Bank transfers can be quite expensive on the other hand (like US 40).
And can be recalled.

I'd go with wire transfer.
I have used it before from Europe to the US adn it works.
There are quite some costs, but these should be for the buyer since he can not get his paypal working.

Make sure you tell him to bear all the costs.

postal money order is fine, but if he's looking to get money out of europe i'm not sure they have them.

i've never heard of a case of a wire transfer being recalled. i've heard horror stories of "bank transfers", where a bank would send over the money only to state later that the original account had the money withdrawn.

in order to send a wire transfer the actual cash has to be in your account and it's pretty much irreversible. and if your bank charges you $40 per transfer i'd suggest finding a new one if you do them often 😉

Had a guy send me a very large wad of bills one time from Singapore. Almost died. Figured they were guaranteed to be counterfeit. Accept only a wire transfer.
