A dearth of information on times (Help needed)

I'm all set to develop my first roll out of my Bessa, but I can't seem to find any information on the chemicals/film I'm using.
I am using Adorama developer (1+19 solution), and Arista.Edu 400 film.
The developer has times on it for Ilford and Kodak films, but no other info. The Film box has times for many developers, but no 1+19 developers.
The giant film dev chart on the Freestyle site is no help, as it does not include any 1+19 developers either!

Any ideas?

The use of off-brand materials entails a lack of documentation, unfortunately.

EDIT: Upon research and development (heh, R&D), I think I can say firmly that:
-Arista.Edu Ultra is Equivalent to Fomapan
-Adorama Liquid 1+19 developer is a form of D-76.

A few thoughts for you:

-- I've heard that the Adorama developer is actually D-76, but cannot say with absolute certainty. ..and that dilution is a new one on me.

-- Arista.EDU film is rebadged Foma, and those times (for D-76) are available on the Massive Development Chart.

Jump right in, the water's warm.. well, 68º, presumably! 🙂 And let us know how it goes! I'm sure others will have many better ideas for you, but this is where i'd start.

I've heard the same rumours about the developer being D-76, but the different format (D-76 is powdered, right? Vs. the liquid Adorama), and radically different dilutions make me a little wary.

Matt, I'll give you the same advice that was given to me (by PeterC): if the images on the roll of film you have are important, then shoot another roll and make development tests with it. You can cut the test film into 3,4,5,or 6 pieces and try different developing times on each one to determine which time works bestfor that film type and developer.

Unfortunately I've already loaded the film onto the reel, and am going to attempt to develop it for eight minutes (rough standard time for stock D-76).
Through research, it seems claims of Arista.Edu Ultra being fomapan are correct (same country of mfg, same dev times listed in Arista box as on chart for Foma).

Based on equivalent Dev times for Hp5+ 400 in D-7s Vs. Adorama solution, they seem to be the same as well.

It would appear that Cale was correct in his post, my negs are currently hanging up in the bathroom and look just fine, aside from my horrible exposures! I kid, of course, they are photographic perfection. 😉
