Was shooting with my m6 last weekend and dropped in a roll of tri-x while i was out in the streets. Apparently, and I just noticed this now.. when I was closing my camera up, I didn't have the rear door bottom shut all the way so the bottom lip ended up on the outside of the bottom plate. Funny though that the door doesn't swing at that position which would have alerted me to it right away.. Stupid film loading design.

My roll is probably ruined eh?

Possibly, but you'll never know till you develop it. I dropped an exposed roll of Macophot 100 onto the tarmac and the bottom fell of the canister (!) felt sure it would be ruined, but all but first two frames were salvaged!

I've dropped many a bulk loaded rolls of film with the end popping off. I've replaced the cap and developed them and because the roll is so tight, all but about two or three images were fine.

You probably won't do that again?

I did the exact same thing the first time I used my newly bought M6 early this summer. Luckily, I noticed it early on, advanced the film about five frames and all was well minus about seven frames. Of course, I was furious with myself and being a senior citizen wondered if I was in the early stages of Alzheimers, but all has gone well since as I'm sure it will go with you.
