Hi!

I have a great M3 with the rf a tad of at infinity(it is ok at 30m but of at 100m+)
I know I need a wide screwdriver but I cant find\machine it localy.

Can anybody loan\rent me his?

Thanks
Mike

I understand the mechanics but do not have access\knowledge\tools.
I would pay a reasonable sum for one though.

There's an early M "basic repair" guide, but I can't remember from where I downloaded it. Be glad to send it if I'm given an e-mail address.

Personally I prefer using something like a butter knife, if necessary ground to fit the slot exactly, as it can be placed horizontally, with the shaft at 90 degrees to the slot, which is better because you want all the force directed to turning the excentric, not pushing up against the arm! Also keep your other thumb against it lightly while turning so it can't accidentally slip. The roller is very tight and you only want to turn it a small fraction at a time.

That would be great! digitalintrigue at yahoo.com

I like the butter knife Idea, need to find one thick enough. I think the metal i soft enough to grind with a manual grinder

I use a bent electronics screwdriver. Bent maybe 30 degrees, 3/4 of an inch
from the tip. The RF adjustment screw slit is rounded and deeper in the middle
than at the borders so this works well. I used a file to make it a little less
sharp and dead straight.

is that for your canon p also rollie?

joe

No, Joe, on the P one doesn't need to touch the roller .... It's an M thing for infinity
alignment. On the P a watchmaker screwdriver is enough.

Cheers,

Roland.
