I just went back and checked out the grooms expression with this in mind, and oh yea! he was defiently checking out the M3.😉 Nice shot joebt.
 
No problem, Joebt! It's a great shot. Becareful not to lift the shadows too much. You want there to still be contrast but just lighten a bit. Looks great. 🙂
 
Thank you all for the kind regards. I didn't make the connection between the groom, my camera, and his profession until, we really thought it out. The photographer he hired asked me about my camera too.

I used ASA 400 XP2, which is C41 processing Black & White film.
 
An excellent moment, definitely a happy occasion. I'll have to bring my M3 to work again this year. It's less intrusive than an SLR.
 
I took another look -- not apprehensive; more like he's wondering just who this guy with the Leica (!) is. Kind of amusing. So I'd say you didn't do a bad guess with the exposure -- what? 1/125 and f4?

My best time at a wedding was as a guest and I had my M2 with 1970's 50mm Summicron. I stayed out of the hired photog's way, but when our paths did cross, he was very deferential, saying, "This photographer has a Leica!" (He was shooting 35mm digital.)
 
Joe, it's a great photo and the exposure is right on. Good job at guessing it. I think that shows how well you and your M3 communicate.

About using AF Nikons... I'm currently on break from RF cameras and using my newly acqured but not new F5. I like it... but it's heave and it does tend to attract attention a lot. At least it did yesterday in Chicago downtown! Howevr, once I'm satisfied experimenting with this camera body, I expect to return to using my M6TTLs and my M3 soon. I need to sniff a bit of developer too! Weird how that smell can be pleasant.

A true pro will do that, and I've tried to emulate that behavior on those occasions when I am the "designated" photographer at an event. 🙂

Thanks Solinar....You M3 owners are a part of a dying breed. The Pros hired to do this job didn't recognize Leica as a world class optic maker.
 
You got it FrankS--I did the exact same thing. We finally did speak at the cake cutting, and when I was in line to get a slice of the cake. Other than that, I'll let them do their thing.

The F-5 is an awsome camera. I just came back from Defenders Day down at Fort McHenry, in Baltimore Md. I shot four rolls with my F-5 and I'm about to start scanning. You have some very nice tools.
