Went to an outdoor mall called The Falls for lunch today. Here are some shots of the scenery.

Felt like I needed some color shots to offset all of the B&W I was doing lately.

C&C welcome...

Yeah, I had the M8 set at ISO 160, f/16 and was still getting speeds in excess of 1/180s. No way I could get the water to feather. That and it was 36C outside.

Nice colors, the 1st one especially. Makes me want to spend $4K on a centrain camera... ;)

Do I have access to the Gallery here? I thought that was for sponsors only.

You most certainly do have access! The only limit is 5 images per day for none sponsors. I very rarely have 5 images a day worth posting let alone 5 images per year, so its rarely a problem!

best wishes

Richard

CV Nokton 40mm f/1.4 MC, Milich modified for 35mm framelines and coded as a Summilux 35mm f/1.4. No IR filter yet. Only lens I own for now. I plan on adding the CV 25p and the Summarit 90mm f/2.5 to round out my kit.

You enjoying the CV 40mm? Reid Reviews comments it can be a bit "soft". What's your experience?
I would have picked one up, other than the comment that it requires some "guessing" on the actual location of the frame lines. This seems to be apparent on your 3rd shot as you probably thought that the walkway at the back of the picture was excluded...
For the 3rd shot, I was wondering what it might have looked like from a lower perspecitve with some sort of focus point, taken wide open?

The third shot is taken from one of the many bridges that criss-cross the mall's water features. I was as close as I could get, leaning over a railing. I framed that shot by guestimating and zone focusing. It was so bright I was able to shoot at f/16 ISO 160 and still get speeds in excess of 1/180s.

I had John Milich adjust my flange to bring up the 35mm framelines in my M8 and I do not regret the decision one bit. Works like a champ.

I have found this copy of the Nokton to be tack sharp, and wide open it has a paper thin focal plane. Any softness in my images is purely operator error. The M8 is the first rangefinder I have used in nearly 35 years (my sister's godfather - may he rest in peace - taught me photo basics on his M3).

Here is a self-portrait and I focused on the camera, you can see that my eye is just a little soft. This was shot wide open.
