Having been pleasantly surprised by the results from the Trip 35 with the 400ASA print film the e-bay seller kindly included with it, I thought I'd give it the ultimate test: slide film!
I have just found a roll of Fuji Sensia 200ASA slide film in my fridge, which I'd totally forgotten about (that is, I'd forgotten about the film, not the fridge
). The film has always been kept refrigerated (since I bought it, anyway) but according to the box it goes out of date at the end of Sep 07. The SP, RC and OM are both part way through other rolls which in all probability will not get finished in the next few weeks, so I thought what the hell: give it a go in the Trip! What have I to loose but processing/scanning costs?
It will be interesting to see the end results, which I'll tag onto this thread (I'll get the slides scanned to CD when I get the film developed)
Anyone else used slide film with this camera?

Well-known
you wrote superia, which is a negative film, unless you meant sensia...
i use slide film with my olympus stylus with great results; it's really not as scary as people make it seem.

Sensia, yes
Was a wild guess, I knew it began with an S, that it was Fuji slide film and 200ASA...I have edited my post accordingly. Thanks for the correction
I am very familiar with slide film (maybe not their names, other than Velvia!), just not sure of how this little baby will cope with it. It'll be a great test.

I've used it in my Trip and it worked fine. Both of these shots are on Kodak Elite Chrome 100 (my all-time favorite film):

I recently put a few rolls of Provia 400 through my trip. I over estimated the capabilities of the exposure system and lost allot of good shots, It's a great little camera but easily tricked.
All this stuff was shot on it;

And most of this stuff;

Darkroom printing lives
DougK, the fall scenery is superb. Mohan, I like the car shot. You guys inspired me to give it a try, problem is, it's expensive to get a non-expired slide films.

Thanks, shadowfox!

Waiting on Maitani
I have been thinking about using some chrome in my Trip, and this gives me more reason. But before I do that I think I'll shoot some K64 in the XA ... it's been a long time since I did that, and I just have a strong urge for it. Maybe I'll pop some Elitechrome in the Trip and shoot them together.

Some inspiring shots there, thanks for sharing
I'm expecting this as well, hence why I see it as the ultimate test. Negative film is more forgiving than slide film in the first instance, then on top of that you have a certain degree of opportunity to tweak the exposure at the printing stage. No such luxuries with slide...
Not sure where you live but here where I live (UK) the 'generalist' slide-film emulsions (such as Sensia) are similarly-priced to print film. The biggest difference afterwards seems to be with the cost of developing and mounting, which is curiusly more expensive than the cost of developing and printing negative film, which initially you would think would be more expensive because of the additionmal printing process. I guess it's down to economies of scale.

I got my Provia 400 for £16 for 10 rolls on ebay, it was just about to expire. If your based in the UK it might be worth a look!

Yeah, I've seen those deals before. Seems an absolute steal if you go through a lot of film. Unless I'm on an 'assignment' (ie a holiday or deliberately out to shoot a specific theme) films can take me months to finish, even a year or more, so it's not really worth it for me.
