Regarding our Jocko..

For those of you who may be wondering why the generally generously garrulous Jocko is suddenly so QUIET:

Just before my arrival in Cambridgeshire (for our traditional thrice-yearly feast of photographic outings) ten days ago , he stumbled in his stairwell and broke his foot in two nasty places. Said foot is now heavy with screws and plates, and encased in weighty plaster, and he has been instructed to keep it raised 23 hours out of 24, and for the next ten weeks. He will be a while out of the running.

He has no Internet access right now, and he may not till he's castless, but he was very concerned about how his not responding to PM's and e-mails would seem...

It will be almost 2008 before he's up & about. Wish him well.

Oh no! I'm very sorry for Ian. I was waiting for a reply from him and I was wondering why I had not already received a mail (usually I'm the one to be late in replying)! I'll miss his great contributions.

Someone should give him a camera and lots of film, too! I can't recall who it was...Harvey?...that had polio as a child and credits the iron lung's little porthole with giving him a close, rectangular view on the world that made a camera so natural. Maybe the same will happen with Ian's window! (I hope he has a window!) Please wish him the best for me, Lynn. And cheers to you, too.
