For those of you who may be wondering why the generally generously garrulous Jocko is suddenly so QUIET:

Just before my arrival in Cambridgeshire (for our traditional thrice-yearly feast of photographic outings) ten days ago , he stumbled in his stairwell and broke his foot in two nasty places. Said foot is now heavy with screws and plates, and encased in weighty plaster, and he has been instructed to keep it raised 23 hours out of 24, and for the next ten weeks. He will be a while out of the running.

He has no Internet access right now, and he may not till he's castless, but he was very concerned about how his not responding to PM's and e-mails would seem...

It will be almost 2008 before he's up & about. Wish him well.

Thanks for the information Lynn. I was missing Ian's posts. All the best to him. I hope he gets back on his feet soon.

Please wish him well for me. I have crushed the toes on my right foot once and broken the right ankle twice. It isn't fun, but we do get through it.

Sorry for the news, hope he is up and about soon. Tell him to post photos of his cast when he feels better.

Ian is an excellent bloke and I love his posts, he's easily one of the wittiest people here. Pity he's a clumsy sod. ;) Please wish him a speedy recovery and tell him we miss him!

Lynn, tell Ian I said "hello", "listen to the doctor" and get well!

PS.. no internet access ... that will make the days a little longer for him. The flip side is he can use his day for other things!

Oh no, I'm so sorry to hear that. Please Lynn, give Ian my best wishes for a speedy recocery. Hope to see him around very soon.

Oh no! I'm very sorry for Ian. I was waiting for a reply from him and I was wondering why I had not already received a mail (usually I'm the one to be late in replying)! I'll miss his great contributions.
Please, Lynn bring him my best wishes for a super speedy recovery and tell him I'll patiently wait for a reply when he'll be ok.
Ciao

Just don't let him watch "Rear Window" too many times!
Wish him a speedy recovery for me, please!
Rob

Someone should give him a camera and lots of film, too! I can't recall who it was...Harvey?...that had polio as a child and credits the iron lung's little porthole with giving him a close, rectangular view on the world that made a camera so natural. Maybe the same will happen with Ian's window! (I hope he has a window!) Please wish him the best for me, Lynn. And cheers to you, too.
