Interesting M3

I just picked up a M3 from a local seller and while checking it out I noticed that it still has the raised "L" wax seal. however this camera also has the M4 flash block assembly instead of the original M3 assembly.

Serial number places this camera as a 1961 vintage

When Leitz does repairs they replace the seal with a sunken "L" seal..

My 1957 M3 still had the original seal, of course the much needed CLA took care of that!

My 55 vintage double stroke which came back from a DAG CLA a few weeks ago now sports a "92" seal..

I'll be sending my newly aquired M3 out soon for service..
