As noted in another thread, a mischievous Jupiter
thwarted me yesterday at the Guggenheim. This
was the sole image worthy of display. It's from
my IIIa while Melanie is shooting hers:
I promise to do better next time.

I dunno, I like it. Nice balance. Maybe a c/v 35/2.5 next time? Had it on my IIIf and it worked a treat.

Sanders, you lucky dog! You simply have "the eye".

Sanders, the one you salvaged is excellent, the modern day "Woman with a Leica". Nice shot.

See - you don't need a Summar to produce great shots

John, no, good guess, but no cigar.

Sanders,
One thing I have been meaning to ask is whether you scan your negs or from a print?
I get the same offset into the sprockets as you (possibly slightly more), but my scanner just will not scan outside the frame and i don't have a darkroom at the moment, so cannot show this (I quite like it).

All of the Leica photos I've posted here
on RFF have been on Foma 200 @ EI 80,
processed in Rodinal. It seems to have
a less effective antihalation dye, and
allows some diffusion like a more traditional
film, conducive to that "Leica Glow" look.
I've been very happy with it -- but then I
choose the Leica when I'm looking for a
more impressionistic, less literal look. I
would never use the stuff in my Rolleiflex.
That would be like drinking claret with sole.
