Got the Epson 4490 on the sale Epson had around Thanksgiving ($86, shipping included) and tried scanning some recent stuff using Fujicolor 400 film:

First one at 2400dpi:

these next 2 at 1200dpi then bw conversion:

And this last one is from the RC I refurbed for a lady friend using expired
Kodak 200 film, never scanned this pic before:

I think the RC likes Kodak film...

Thanks, Steve! I love the RC, it's my favorite cam out of all the ones I have. I have 3 of these now, with one left to clean up and replace lightseals. The last scan
was at 2400dpi just checking the USM box, no Digital Ice, dust removal, etc. I like
the fact that I can make out the "Michelin" on the rear tire of the Boxter.🙂

$86??? Seems I paid over $200 for mine but that was before the sale. But we're all suckers, you know, because as good as those scans look, they really can't be all that good. After all, the 4490 is just a flat bed and everybody knows they're vastly inferior!!!

(All said with a mouthful of tongue in my cheek!)

Nice pics! Cool camera too.

The scans look like they came out pretty well, at least for an $86 scanner. The 4490 is what my university has in the library but I haven't got a chance to scan any negatives yet. At least now I know it's worth giving a shot!
