Is there anyone out there who wants to part with a Nikon F mount to S mount adapter? Perhaps any info as to where one can be obtained would also be most appreciated. Cosina/Bessa/Voigtlander no longer make one and Mr Gandy from Cameraquest informs me that he has no stock.

I would assume that Cosina still has the dies to make up this item, and I'd wager that they could sell a few hundred anyway if they re-issued the adapter at a reasonable cost.
It might be instructive to post a survey to get an actual number of people wiling to buy an adapter if they were made available, and then if the number is sufficiently high, give the information to the folks at Cosina.
I'd buy one in a second if they became available.

Well here is my order for two.

I'll take the bull by the horns. If someone will supply me with the address of Cosina, I'll write or email Mr. Kobayashi and ask him about the adapters. He'll certainly never say yes unless we ask him.

Guys,

I have asked Mr. K several times.
Cosina is not going to make more FS adapters.

While we keep hearing that Cosina was disappointed by the Voigtlander lens sales to Nikon rangefinder people, I still think they'd be interested in producing adapters if they had confirmed orders for them, rather than just producing them on spec, thus I still intend to contact Cosina, and I suggest that everyone here who wants one do the same thing. Perhaps multiple requests or inquiries might actually make a difference. It's certainly worth the effort. Additionally, does anyone here actually have one of these things? If so, it might be instructive to take it to a machine shop and inquire as to cost per piece to make up 5, 10, 20, 50 of the adapters, for starters.
The tool and die makers who machined an aluminum F2 wrist strap base for me would be a likely candidate. I'm going to show them an F mount and an S mount and get some idea of cost.
Of course, if they were going to produce them, proper dimensions for the thickness of the mount and orientation of the mounts with respect to each other to line everything up would be required. But one step at a time.

I will admit my ignorance about this, but what is the advantage of using such adapter? Would be able to focus the camera using the RF? Would you be able to focus at infinity? It seems to me you would be taking lenses that would work better on any Nikon SLR body and try to adapt them to a RF for what end? It seem to me that the reason to shoot with RF lenes is so you do not need a retrofocus lens , so you get better contrast and quality. I guess if you had a 20mm lens and you wanted to zone focus it ,you could make it work, but how is that better than putting the lens on Nikon F? I would appreciate any help you could give me to help me understand it. thanks

I'm trying to cut down to fewer and fewer systems without giving up glass that I love. I have some duplication that I could cut out if I could find a good but reasonably priced F to S adapter. I could sell my LTM CV 15/4.5 lens and replace it with a F mount version. This would allow me to use the lens on my S3-2000, my F2 and some day a Nikon DSLR. I could also sell my LTM Nikkor 105/2.5 then as I have another in S mount already.
