I have an Elmarit 135/2.8, and although the exterior glass looks good an clean, there are scratches on what seems to be one of the interior elements. How did they get there, from a careless tech? I'm wondering if any of you have seen this before, and what I might expect in terms of image degradation from these scratches?
This an early version Elmarit, w/ the knurled focus ring, btw.

It's difficult from your photo to see that the scratches are on an internal lens. It looks as if they're on the outside surface. I don't think they'll have much effect on the photos as long as you keep the lens hood on. Regards, Huubjja said:Here is a photo of the scratches. Again, they are in an interior element, close to the front.

HuubL, thanks for your response. The marks are definitely on an interior element. At other angles, the outer element is completely smooth and gleaming. I agree that the markings are not significant enough that they will affect final image quality, especially with the very deep telescoping hood of the elmarit.
I will be selling this lens soon, and I want to be completely up front when I put it in the classifieds.
