Hi all.

I'm looking at a Contax GR1 with a 45mm Zeiss Planner, it's in my local shop and is in good nick. It's very pretty, I like the AF as my eyes are bad, and the fact it's kind of an RF. I wondered if anybody had tried one outside of a shop and what the opinions are. I've read reviews, but know from a previous job most of them are swayed by what the reviewer gets from it!

So, if anyone has used one, are they good for street/fast/candid work?

Take care.

A.

Do you mean Contax G1?

I have a G2 and I love it. the 45 planar is one of the best lenses for 35mm.

one of the best AF rf i have used. all lenses are superb and most importantly, the price is very reasonable nowadays.

Brilliant camera. It was what got me into rangefinders.

PROS: Some of the best lenses ever, very very good value, Jewel like construction, the most high tec rengefinder ever.

CONS: Hampered with a slighly small viewfinder, slightly noisy autofocus and a red autofucus assist beam which can give the game away when you're doing candids in low light.

Want to buy mine? I need to fund GAS. :)

Cool. How much are you selling for? I can get a very good nick G1 with the 45mm for £120. But I'd prefer to give to a fellow RFF user. :)

I've been here what seems like 5 minutes, and you have all turned me into a collector! My future wife is not happy. :)

Well I'm sure we can work out a good deal. ;)

Mine is in excellent condition and comes with it's original boxes, manuals & receipts.

I also have the 90mm lens, TLA flash and leather camera case.

Where abouts are you? Feel free to PM me if you're interested.
