a new chapter in the saga of my m8

Geeze you scared me there for a second - thought you may have got a blank frame or something out of the new m8! But no, that pictures great - look forward to seeing more.

Where did you find that guy anyway?

That's almost as scary as Ned's dead impaled pig in the Noctilux thread!

You think the guy and the pig are bad there's a post from a guy who has a ball sucking M8!:p

AHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAAHAH 'breathe' AHHAAHHAHAHAAHHAHAHA 'cough cough'

that a great shot!

I know no one should have to go through what you did for a camera but I really hope it's worth it. It's above and beyond my favorite digital camera to shoot with and I've been crossing my fingers that you still manage to enjoy it. :)

thanx for the well wishing buddy... it seems to be funtioning flawlessly at this point and from what i've heard they wen tover it with a fine tooth comb before they sent it!
keep the great photo's coming!

Been following your saga ....Glad it all worked out for you .
Great first shot ... seems appropriate ...you should send that slab of meat off to the person who caused you the most greif in this whole ordeal ...Like when Don Corleone sends Woltz the horse head in the Godfather ; )

well fred, we both know that when working as it should, it is a great camera that is very easy to take everywhere.
so where do i look for photo's? the gallery i suppose?

shiro-with sincere hopes that this doesn't head this thread in the wrong direction (i think it's all been covered) all i hope is that i don't need to send it anywhere for a long time! well, in a bag and off to north africa in a month but i'm accompanying.

the first frame!
this fella was a wee creepy.
Creepy indeed, and a fine photo too! Glad you got it running with presumably all the goodies. Looking forward to seeing your results from North Africa. Have fun!

Dear John,

Congratulations on a superb shot.

As I get older I use an ever simpler criterion for admiring others' pictures: would I have been proud to take it?

Here, the answer is, "Very proud indeed -- I'm almost never that good."

Cheers,

R.

Congrats. I can only echo the comments about the quality of the photo by others.

Unfortunately for me, it also just goes to show why I am such a boring photog! For some reason I just see it as a good picture of a butcher rather than being "creepy".

well to be there would have added some "creep" context! he was having way to much fun with the whole thing!
i reckon we could transmorgify this thread into a "creepy" people one with a little effort by all!
cheers
john

A bit less creepy than the original color version, especially cropping out the blood stained knife helped and converting to mono. Gained by showing more of the environment also. Like this lens, bought one also as my 50mm Cron was and is out for repair and coding. He still has an underlying "air" of creepiness, maybe it is just his expression, maybe...:)

Well, I should hope so!

Well, I should hope so!

ok, scrap the pig! a ballsucking m8?!?!

For the price you pay for an M8, I would EXPECT it to ....

.....never mind.

*edit* I prefer the original crop, with blood-stained cutlery. Great shot.
