Spot Toning Fiber Paper

Its been a long time since I've spot toned, however I have a few fiber prints I just made that need it. I hot press my fiber paper. My question is should I spot tone before or after I press my prints?

I wait till the prints are flat, rumor was the color might change after heating- I never tested it, but figure I don't want to take the time to spot and then mess up the print in the press.
