Hi all,

So my Nikon FM is trashed and I'm going to buy an MP. Maybe a used MP and new lens. As I'm in area without any camera shops in the area, my only choice is online shopping or mail-order (in the USA).

Can anybody recommend one or two Leica dealers or resllers?

Thanks in advance!

JP

try tony rose at popflash for a used mp, and depending on what lens you want the same will probably be able to take care of you

The good thing you can count on when working with Tony is that if there is some sort of problem he will actually take care of it rather then blow you off and pass the bucket to someone else.

Luigi Crescenzi of Leicatime is a great guy and can be found at http://www.leicatime.com/ completely honest and easy to work with. His website is about as bad as CameraQuest's and his English needs improvement. He's one of the good guys.

Otherwise ffordes at https://secure.ffordes.com/index.htm I have known them for thirty years or more and would rely on them.

I considered buying from KEH, but when I called for an over the phone quick inspection and serial number inquiry (to know what I was exactly getting) I was told that their office and warehouse are in separate locations so that was impossible. I was put off by that.

I'm another big Tony Rose fan. I didn't buy my MP from Tony but I did buy a 35 Summicron-ASPH from him and after that experience, he completely won my over. For new (or slightly used) Leica and Zeiss stuff, I'll be going with Popflash from now on.

They used to allow bringing items into their offices so that those reps can check serial# stuff for the custmers before purchase. They have changed the policy for a while. However, there is another way to do it. For example, you want a m2 with serial # after 1 mil. You can simply ask the rep to put an order for a M2 but ONLY ship if the serial # is over 1 mil. They will check the serial# for you in the warehouse and if they find what you need, you will receive the shipping confirmation email. I have done this for over 10 times in KEH and it works great.
