Nothing here but a bunch of old coots socializing on the street with their dslrs instead of being on an internet photo forum where they belong.

These are what are known as "Street Shooters" - You see them on the street and you want to shoot them!
More seriously (but only just) I think the principle they are using is "safety in numbers." If one old guy is taking photos of pretty girls walking past he is a pervert. If many are doing it, it is a camera club. I say this jokingly but I am often embarrassed to photograph people on the street in case I get a handbag in the face. Perhaps its easier to do it as a group.

Actually one great thing about this video link.............is that it led me to another one.
The following link contains a video about medium format digitals. Love the movements on the Horseman...... the sensor moves not the lens.
Sorry I do not mean to hijack the thread so please ignore this message.

Don't worry, you didn't. The link takes you right back to the original video of the three guys who couldn't take a good photo to save their lives.

Those are all Leica camera collectors.
You may wonder why no Leica cameras...
That is because they do not wish to risk their damage or theft in such a bad area.
So they take out their dSLR cameras, stand in one spot, take dodgy photos of more-or-less nothing, talk about wide-angle lenses they own but will not use, and then they go home and fondle.
Which is fine with me. I find it odd, but I don't care if that's what they wish to do. I guess it is like Fantasy Football. They don't really own any football teams, but they all agree to pretend they do.

Very cool indeed, unlike what Hasselblad has done. That flat-out sucks. Of course, people have been saying that for a year now (must be an old clip).

Yes they can be!
Yes they can be!
And somebody wants to see five prints from each of them......
Getting back to my title, yes they can be that bad. I knew a few really bad photographers who worked as photographers for Kodak back in the 70s. One traded a complete Leica M3 Visoflex system with all lenses and a few M lenses for an SL2 and a 50mm lens. That does not make him a bad photographer, just DUMB.
Getting really board when I lived on Long Island for about nine months I joined a local camera club. One guy was there to photograph and do girls, many were there to enter the monthly contests held by the county level organization (club of clubs). A few wanted to learn, but the club never really got around to looking at photography any way but to win contests.
I took one of members (OK, she was female and very pretty) to the International Center of Photography in NYC one after noon. She was shocked, there were pictures being exhibited there that were out of focus, weren't perfect they way contest pictures needed to be the club had told her. As we walked around the floors I explained to her that great pictures can can capture an emotion just as well as a pretty scene. She was as confused as possible on the train ride back out east.
I knew a couple of guys who could have been in the video 20 years ago.

The difference with Meyerowitz is that he produces results, I doubt these people did as they didn't really shoot anything.
Meyerowitz plays up for the camera I think, he's a natural performer.
