Just wanted to see what you guys were up to this weekend? What are you shooting, planning to shoot, develop, print, scan etc...

Me. I am going to make some contacts tonight or tomorrow night then shoot some rainy day shots with the Bessa on Saturday.

Sunday, daughter has ballet..

That's about it..

Snow.. that's what's up.. or what's going to be coming down.. at least in these parts..

Dave

Shoot? No time for that, just work, work and more work... :bang:

Maybe I'll manage to squeeze in a darkroom printing session on Sunday evening.

Torrential rain and 80mph winds is the warning from now until Monday. I've only half a greehouse left from last weeks crappy weather. I think weather shots will be my theme this weekend. Shooting with my Contax T2 and Oly XA.

the weather is supposed to be great this weekend, sunny skies and warm temps - in the plus end of things -

the plan is to shoot the new 35/1.4, develop the film and scan something worth posting. we shall see...

I might catch the Lee Miller exhibit at the art museum in Philly, probably on Sunday. Rain is supposed to stop by then.

Edit: A little google and ooh: Ansel Adams prints on display there too. Kills two birds with one stone.

Saturday - Gun Show at Birch Run (MI). I'll take the GSN and do some character studies along with a little scenery.

Rain is on the way but I think I'll take a walk in town tomorrow morning for some shooting. Hope to scan and print sunday afternoon.
Have a nice wekend.

Taking photos at a gun show is a really good way to meet Mister Parking Lot, face-first. You might want to think that one through.

Not so, Bill! It depends on the photographer's attitude. For example, last week, I ran into a couple of guys that I shoot trap with at a local camera show. We all discussed the upcoming gun show this weekend, and then chatted about the cameras we would be trading or looking for at the camera show. A bit of gun talk followed. It's really a question of how comfortable the photographer is, plus it doesn't hurt to be carrying a rifle or shotgun over your shoulder with a tag attached.

Since we are experiencing torrential rain, here this weekend through Saturday evening, I plan on attending with my camera. I've been doing it for years and have never had a problem. The gun culture here in PA is pretty well-entrenched as well as friendly. It may just be more locale than attitude. Who knows?

Respectfully,

Tonight (Friday night) attend opening of photo exhibit

Saturday: attend photo workshop all day
Saturday evening: attend opening of a friend's photo exhibit
Saturday night: develop film from day's workshop

Sunday morning: edit film from last night, scan and print selected images.
Sunday noon: continue Saturday workshop with review of what we shot.
Sunday night: have dinner with my wife.

Saturday - daughter's basketball tournament; Minolta X-570 w/ 35-70 f4 zoom

Sunday - fly to Scottsdale on business; IIIf, Canon 50/1.8 for some early AM desert scenes next week

in between - on line shopping for my first M :D :D :D :D

About one and half acres of grass to mow in the top paddock .... how Aussie does that sound? :p

As for photography ... I have a roll of shots that I took with my Bronica this morning of my mate's 1972 Ducati 750 Sport that he just got back from a complete rebuild. I'll scan those tonight and just looking at the negs hanging to dry they are sharp sharp sharp!

Damn I like medium format sometimes! :D

Fly fishing in the National Forest. I'm not a great fly fisherman so I'll make sure to have a camera or two along. Springtime is nearby but not on quite here yet. Chance of snow late in the day I'm told.

Between boring stuff like laundry (doing it now), grocery shopping (done, and I'll admit to buying some Delta 400 and XP2) and mowing the grass, I'm:

  • post-processing some shots of the Cunard ships that visited Sydney a couple of weeks ago;
  • printing some of the shots - one at 13"x19" that came up well;
  • being "official photographer" at a party hosted by my friends and local bookshop owners (they've sold the house, are selling the business and moving south :( );
  • developing scanning, post-processing and printing some initial results from that (which will be a mix of film b&w and digital).
...Mike

North Carolina is open for fishing? Wow. I'm envious.

my plans.... dealing with and shoveling about 40cm/16in of snow...

Jan, We have had a really mild winter down here with temps averaging in the 50's & 60's. On my trips to Raleigh going across Lake Jordan I've seen the most boats out on the water than in any times past during the winter months. This weekend I won't be doing much shooting because of much needed rain.
