On eBay I was ‘watching’ several cameras, ‘bid’, and ‘lost’ in the usual way when this turned up: Konica EE-MATIC DELUXE F.

It’s a bit on the big side for me but a slightly unusual rangefinder.

OK, so its only got a Hexanon 1:2.8 f42mm lens and I was really looking to get something a bit faster – the Konica Auto S2 is ‘on my list’.

The camera seems n pretty reasonable condition – slight mark on the shutter blades but it does seem to work although I have yet to put a film through.

The seals need to be replaced which is hardly a surprise.

It has the usual mercury battery for the age and its compartment is on the end of the camera by the rewind knob.

The battery ‘box’ in the base is to power the flash – cubes (!!) which fit into the camera under the flip up mirror plate on the camera top.

No accessory shoe.

Well, it’s different.

And just to add that little something I found someone offering the manual – that’s still to come in the post.

Has anyone any experience of using one of these?

Wow. Hope you're an "available light" man... Could be a while before you track down any flashcubes. :D Good luck. Looks like an interesting, fun camera.

I didn't even realize that was for cubes at first.

Wow, is right. Amazing to have a metal body camera with a flash cube socket.
