eyeglasses obscuring framelines of m3

Hello all,

I have an M3 with a 50mm lens and I'm tired of shifting the camera around so that I can see the framelines. I want to be able to see out beyond the edges of the frameline in one glance. Aside from contact lenses or laser surgery is a diopter lens the answer? I'm nearsided. Can these lenses be matched to my eyeglass prescription?

The eye-relief on the M3 Single Stroke is a bit better than the double-stroke. I have no problem seeing the 50mm lines on the newer M3. The eyepievce is slightly larger. If you have a double-stroke, maybe it could be modified.

I've just spent a few months going through this, exacerbated in my case because I wear plastic glasses (easily scratched). So I didn't know whether to deal with eyepiece protectors, the .85x eyepiece that diminishes the finder, thus bringing the outside frames farther "in", or the diopter.

In addition, my eyeglass prescription was progressive and I have a bit of astigmatism. I tried a number of approaches. I didn't like the .85X because it looked like it had some barrel distortion. And I really loved the diopter -- approximate worked fine for me. Both the Leica and the one from HKSupply (Suppliers?) worked fine. I haven't decided if there are differences in flare between the two.

The remaining problem, of course, is that I have to flip up my glasses to use this -- but it really works nicely.

By approximate -- my dominant eye requires a correction between -3 and -4, as well as a correction for astigmatism. The -3 diopter, w/o correction for astigmatism works just fine.
