This goes to the "digital guys": Now that you have all those nice digital images: How do you watch / present them?

As you might have guessed already, I am trying to rationalize the purchase of a 50in plasma display.

Given that most of my pictures dont get printed, and the laptop display is a bit on the small side, I thought that this might be a nice way to watch all those digital images. On the hand, even the new 1080p display "only" have 2MP, which is quite a let downm compared to the current 10MP.

Did any of you guys go through the same line of thought? What was the result?

Regards,
Arne

I have a little Mac Mini with a big (24") screen in the living room. Ingest large JPGs into iPhoto, then run the slideshows. Wonderful.

On my blog and portfolio blog. And I print them 30x40 or 50x70 when I "need" to hang them or give them as a gift.

web for sharing and print for viewing/albums. 50" plasma ... do the new plasma screens have burn in like the old ones do?

As far as I know that problem was somewhat reduced. LCD are supposed to have even less trouble with burn-in, while the plasmas still have the lead in terms of picture quality.

I was wondering if anybody here has some experience with one of the later 1080p (1080i doesnt work that well with static images) models.

I'm interested in those little hard drive-with-a-screen media viewers...I think there's an Epson one that's supposed to be quite nice. It could serve as a good backup for my digital photos and scanned negs, and also as a kind of instant photo album.
