Hello guys!
Yerterday morning my Canonet QL17 (The original QL17, full-sized camera with a 45mm F1.7 lens) was at home!
I haven´t got the battery to test the light meter yet, so I´m cleaning the cam and testing mechanical parts.
All seems to be right (the ASA setting is maybe too hard to move, but...), but the viewfinder is a little bit foggy and I think I should clean it. Do you know how can I do it? It´s a difficult work?
I hope your responses.
Thank you VERY MUCH!

Cleaning the viewfinder? We covered this lots of times for various Canonet models - the latest about 2 weeks ago - search this forum.

I was reading about it in the forum... but when I try to open the top plate, the film advance and the shutter button stops me.

Suggest you run a couple of rolls through the camera and see if "a little bit foggy" is any real trouble.

Think Different
I'm guessing that you are going to have to unscrew the chrome ring that surrounds the shutter release button. Once removed, that should allow you to remove the advance lever and, eventually, the top plate.
As for how to remove the chrome ring without scratching it, try a pair of pliers with the ends wrapped in friction tape.

Thanks Mackinaw.
I´ll try with the pliers.
I should turn the ring left?

Wrap some cloth or plastic around a screw driver, insert it between the prongs that hold the film cartridge in place. You can then unscrew the crank in a counter clockwise direction.wow!! thank you ver much!

I think there's a Canonet repair guide on Kim Coxon's site, www.pentax-manuals.com.

Payasam, thank you very much. There is a Canonet GIII repairing manual on the site. It not exactly the same cam, but...
THANK YOU!
