Hello, I wanted to buy a lens for my bessa r and found a bunch of topics on M mounts for latter cameras but didnt have much luck with these. I'd be glad if you could let me know, fast would be good.

Industar 61 L/D I understand is an excellent lens and cheap too! I have just bought one for my Zorki 4 and will be migrating it to my Bessa R or perhaps even R2A with adapter when I get that towards the end of this month.

Keep an eye on the classifieds here. Every now and then a Voigtlander 35/1.7 Ultron pops up.. Should be fast enough for most practical purposes.
That said, I'm personally very fond of the 35/2.5 Skopar.. Maybe not as fast, but very portable..

do you want a 35mm lens? The Jupiter 12 won't fit because it'll hit the shutter with its huge rear element. The CV options are good ones, and there are a couple of 28mm Ultron's for sale right now on RFF that can be used with the entire viewfinder.

I want a 35mm lens, maybe a 40 but 35 preferred. So the industar doesn't fit?

the jupiter 3 won't fit. the industar 61 is a 50 (55?) mm lens, not a 35.

The Jupiter 3 (50 mm) will fit -- it is the 35 mm Jupiter 12 which will not fit because of its bulbous rear.

Simple:
- high contrast, tiny, 0.7m min distance: Color Skopar
- great bokeh, fast, 0.9m min distance: Ultron 35/1.7
Not much better lenses out there with similar specs.

Yeah, the Color Skopar 35/2.5 is a great lens on the R. I have been using the set up for the last couple years. For examples you can look at my flickr page -- seach BessaR in my tags -- most of those BW's were done with that lens. Mixed bag -- but hopefully shows flexibility of the lens.

There's a black 35mm LTM Skopar for sale in the classifieds right now (seller: Cindy Flood). Looks to be in excellent condition and the price is right. Bessa R + 35 Skopar is a perfect combo.

I'd recommend the Skopar any day. I've had three, and you will pry the current one from my cold dead fingers.

Roland's right (not a shock), for speed it's the 1.7, the 2.5 wins on size. Either way you do not loose as they are great lenses.
I used the 1.7 for years and was very happy with it.

"Flim? You want flim?"
The Skopar is VERY tiny and hard for my large fingers to use. I have one of those and also the Ultron 35/1.7 - more SLR-like to use. It'd be good if you could try one or the other out before deciding.

Something really funny now that I've finally gotten an interchangeable lens RF - I have no problem with the "size" of the faster lenses, like the Ultron. compared to any of my SLR cameras and lenses, it's still a light kit. And I want fast lenses.
Good luck - let us know which lens you end up with.
