What do you people think of this lens? Compared to the ZM 35/3 and the 35/2 summicrons. I've currently got a 40/2 cron-c but an thinking of getting a 35mm. I can't decided besides the above lenses or just get a Canon 35/2. Any help appreciated.
Could someone post pics taken with all 4 lenses?

They're all quite good optically with the Canon being the best version they had to offer at the time but it's minimum focus of 1 m might be an issue. The UC has the best build quality from my experience.

The UC has a minimum focus distance as 0.9M. It is a cute lens, the immagine quality is outstanding, but summicron and ZM 35mm is little bit better. The hexanon m 35MM is very nice too. but the size is the biggest and quite pricy now.

If one doesn't consider the UC Hexanon pricey ($950) then the Hexanon M isn't too bad either, as Matsuiya on ebay had two last I checked at about $750 EX+ used. Of course, the Biogon is priced very similar and most used Summicrons will be in that ballpark to a bit more, depending on the version.
From what I've read, the Hexanon M is bigger, and the optical formula and resultant output is very similar to the Summilux ASPH 35/1.4 at equal apertures. The smaller UC Hexanon, is very similar in formula to the 35/1.8 Nikkor, and many compare performance to the legendary 4th version Summicron.
Of course, any and all are great lenses. Anyone who has owned a few of those lenses discussed would be quite fortunate! As for me, I've a UC Hexanon on the way. I like the compact size, LTM versatility, and if it performs as well as most say it can, I'm sure it will more than handle my mediocre photographic skills.

I think I've worked my way through 90% of the 35mm M lenses (except the lux asph), including the CV1.2, biogon, M-Hex, UC-Hex, 35 cron IV, 40 cron-C, 35 lux pre-asph. I've ended up with the 35 cron asph, but there's more to it than that.
2 lenses on my list would have been perfect for me but for one flaw. I believe the CV 35mm f/1.2 is the best 35 I've ever used (including a Canon 35L), but the size was too much for me on a rangefinder. The UC-Hex has my favourite signature and is stunning quality and build, but cannot focus down to 0.7m.
If I didn't take so many close photos with a 35mm lens, I would have stayed with the UC Hex forever. In the end, my cron asph "compromise" is doing me just fine, and I'm "done" with 35mm lenses.

cool sounds good. I can't decided to sell my M6 franken leica for a simple Canon P. I know the P's rangefinder doesn't focus down past 1m I think. The notion of the camera is just a box that holds film hit me in the face the other day and I've suddenly realized that I can afford nice glass if I ditch the nice body and get something simple, bulletproof.

Yes: it works well, though with glasses its a little hard to see the 35mm framelines. That doesn't really fuss me, though.

got my uc hexanon a few days ago. Reminded me immediately of the 40 summicron in size and function with that tab and short focus throw. Haven't seen any negs yet but coming soon. Now I have to paint my m2 glossy black to match.

everything is temporary..
can anyone post a pic of their UC hex on a canon p and am M for size comparison. Currently I've got an M6 and am using the 40mm rokkor M of of a CL. It's a nice small package. I used to have a P but sold it to help finance the M6 but I'm starting to miss the P's 1:1 finder and ruggedness.
