I don't know, there's a pic on the first page where the subject (girl in pink top) is pretty fuzzy.

thanks for the link!
the photos themselves are singularly unremarkable, but a couple of them hint at the exciting qualities of this lens
this one demonstrates its ability to handle difficult bokeh situation and the fact that high contrast may not be such a big issue
http://www.flickr.com/photos/sotome/2523389333/sizes/l/
while this one shows that even with a relatively large minimum aperture, the DOF isolation and bokeh are quite lovely

I have to say that I am REALLY disappointed that Matsuiyastore is selling the 35/2.8 at US$798, a price that is certainly at least $100 higher than retail street price in Japan. It is in fact higher than the list price at current exchange rates, and no one in Japan ever sells these lenses at or above list price. Sheesh, the price shouldn't be much more than a Planar 50/2! Bad day for web buyers

Thanks for finding these, Joe.
Like others, I am intrigued by the relatively shallow DoF that can be got with this relatively slow lens. It almost behaves more like a 50mm in that respect. I would be interested to see it side-by-side with the 35/2 Biogon at the same aperture to see if this characteristic is similar.
There seems to be a strong 3D character in these sample images.

That's the best bokeh I've ever seen on a lens that wasn't longer than a 50! The combination of perfect tack sharpness even wide open and beautiful bokeh makes it a no brainer for someone that doesn't need a speedy 35. Great job Zeiss! It ranks up there with my perfect 21/4.5 C Biogon, another optical masterpiece and a great match as a wider lens companion for this baby.

It's hard to anything but great results from the Flicker photos..in the llinks listed by Gabriel MA listed in his post. also I looked at the Flicker file of the "brick wall" with trash can.
The "Bricks" behind the trash can all retain fine details...while being just outside the focal plain. I have a Zeiss Biogon F2 model lens and now I want to shoot a direct side by side comparison...F stop identical.....I would bet we would see some really interesting results.
Thanks to everyone for listing the links on these photos..wow lots of fun.
Best Regards....Laurance
