Anything smaller than the XA with full frame and a rangefinder (rather than scale focusing)?
For that matter is there a smaller RF with smaller film format?

The Olympus 35RC is pretty tiny. I don't know if it is smaller than the XA though.

The XA is a lot slimmer than the 35RC. Did any of the small Petris have coupled RF focusing?

Here is a definitive answer on the XA vs 35RC. From Karen Nakamura's photoethnography site: XA 102w x 64.5h x 40d.
From my 35RC including protrusion of the lens: 117w x72h x 54d.

At a certain point, the rangefinder base becomes too small to be usefully accurate. You can get around this by adding a magnifying lens to the setup, means the rangefinder system must have as little margin of error as possible.
A wide angle lens will help compensate for minor errors in the rangefinder system.
Another small rangefinder camera, though not necessarily the smallest and certainly not the lightest, is the Ducati (a half frame, which rules it out of this category).
Others would be the folding Zeiss Ikon Contina (moderately small) and the folding Agfa Super Solinette/Ansco Super Regent.
Some of the Kodak 110 cameras had rangefinders.

In millimeters, the Contax T is 98 (W), 66.5 (H), 32.5mm (D) according to the spec. The T is a FF 35mm RF with manual advance and full-time aperture-preferred AE.

Film is the other way
yeah a Minox is just smaller than an XA. The Canon ELPH APS .. is smaller also but it's a strange breed of 35mm film that is just about done with commercial labs and film producers as well
