New here.. How does the CV nokton 35mm 1.2 work with M8?

Hi, all.
New here and I need some expert opinions.

I have a Leica M8. I wonder any of you have some experience with the Voigtländer 35mm 1.2 without coding on a M8?

Are there any big difference between the Voigtländer 1.2 and the summilux 1.4 pre-asph 50/35mm?

In my experience, the cv 35/1.2 nokton does quite well on the M8. If you don't mind the bulk of the thing, it's a great lens. And I'd say it performs much better wide open than does the 35/1.4 pre-asph.
I don't currently own either of them, but have used both. The 35 pre-asph summilux was, at least in the sample I had, much softer than the nokton when used at max aperture.
 
I use the CB Nokton 35/1.2 on my M8 exclusively. It is a joy!

After dropping $5k on my body, paying $700 instead of $2500 for my lens almost makes sense, considering I don't see any practical difference with my eye.

It's worth mentioning that I like the feel of this lens - the focus ring is smooth! - compared to Leica lenses.
 
There is an important note on the Cameraquest regarding modifications which may need to be made to older Noktons. You may know this already. If not, you can click on the Cameraquest ad link ikon on the left and navigate to the following information:
"March 17, 2008: The 35/1.2 was introduced in 2003. Once the Leica M8 was introduced in late 2006, some M8 owners reported focusing resistance as the lens focused near infinity. The factory determined this was caused by the rear element guard sometimes binding with the focusing mechanism, and issued a retrofit parts replacement. CameraQuest has modified all 35/1.2's in stock, and will only sell M8 modified 35/1.2's in the future. Note this does not include M8 lens bar coding, which would be a patent violation. Of course all 35/1.2's, modified or not, work fine on all film Leica M bodies.

M8 retrofitting 35/1.2's for the original owners who bought from CameraQuest is free -- other than shipping charges. Average turnaround is 2 to 3 weeks after receipt. Retrofitting non CameraQuest 35/1.2's is $150, or free if a new Voigtlander lens or current production Voigtlander body is purchased at the same time of the retrofit. "
