What about the CV 35/2.5 Color Skopar "C"? Looks like a wonderful compact little lens that make a compact rig with my ZI. Anyone have experience with this lens?

There are three words that describe it perfectly;

Sharp, sharp, sharp..

Oh, and of course it's compact, leightweight, sports a focus lever and an effective screw on/off hoodlet.. Splendid little lens. Only thing it lacks from the similarly constructed 25/4 are the focus click stops at 1, 1.5 and 3 meters.

If you browse through older posts in the "Voigtlander Bessa" section, you'll find some threads about this. Also try a Flickr search to see what it can do.

My opinion / experience: sharp, contrasty, small, light, flare resistant... and currently the best "bang for the buck" (new from CQ at a bit over $200).

Does any one know if there will be a M-mount version of the CS C?
Kind regards
Søren

I use a 'CS C' with an adapter all the time, so I really do not see the need for a M-Mount version. The Voigtländer 35mm f2.5 Color-Skopar Classic is a gem of a lens and one of my all-time favorites.

There's the M-Mount 35/2.5 Color-Skopar P Type II which has the same optics, albeit in a different somewhat beefier barrel.

Yes not only a different barrel but also (according to many) a different handling without the foccussing thing (arh forgot what its called)
kind regards
Søren

Yes I figured I would too but being very close to push the button on one the dealer went out of M adapters for it and since it seems to be generel updating time for CV lenses I figured....................... :)
Kind regards

I've owned two of these and sold them both. Nice lens, don't get me wrong, but I have always liked the original pancake version of the lens better -- I don't care for the focus tab on the "C."

Sharp & compact.... a wonderful lens. I've read that the latest incarnation of this lens has a better build (the one with the M mount) although I've never had trouble with my "C".

I love it! It's the lens that is on my camera most often. Here are a couple sample (Here and here)

It was one of the factors that lead me to start shooting a rangefinder. I had used a Pentax SLR with 35-70 lens that was so much bigger and over a stop slower.

nice shots. really fine lens.

I agree... this is a terrific little lens, very sharp and contrasty, although the contrast can be tamed by various means. It's a great lens for street photography and landscapes. I use mine now w/ a vented hood. There's a flickr group devoted to it, and also a lot of samples in the flickr M-Mount group. A lot of RFF'ers use it

Mine came together with my Bessa R, so it's the lens most often used with the R. I agree with what everyone said, compact, very sharp and high contrast. I use mine with the LH-2 rectangular hood. I also like the handy and efficient focusing tab.

I'd say get it... :)
What are the old "C" Skopar screw mounts selling for now? I think last I saw here in RFF classifieds it was around (actually I think it was less than) $200. Don't expect the solid feel of recent VC/Zeiss products though or you'll be pretty disappointed. Mine's traveled to the U.S. & Europe over the past 5 years & it's still holding up fine.

I have this lens, I actually got it from Memphis (the RFF member, not the place...). I must say that it is a pleasure to use, and it is indeed sharp. Smashing lens. I've got a few bits over on my flickr, and some stuff I shot in Finland recently is due back from the lab any day now.

Here's an example from a few weeks back:
