Actually, it's more about INSERTS than a specific bag. What I'm looking for is an insert for a satchel-style bag that has partitions that can be positioned anywhere within the interior compartment. I don't like the fixed size of the Domke inserts. I kind of like the adjustable inserts like those found in the Artisan & Artist bags, but I don't want the entire bag -- just the innards. The Billingham Hadley insert comes close, but it has a top cover flap that I find unnecessary.

Any ideas?

Not exactly the answer you sought, but here's my approach to this problem.

I too carry a satchel-style bag (a discarded briefcase made of ballistic nylon and heavy leather). I finally gave up on commercially available inserts (they consume too much space, among other things) and built my own lens "inserts".

I use cardboard mailing tubes, lined with a sheet of readily available felt. Permanently fix a plastic plug in one end; choose another tight-fitting plug as a cap for the other end. A tube with a 2.25in inside diameter (uncommon, but findable --- complete with plastic plugs) is great. In such a tube, lots of popular lesnes will fit like a glove: 35mm and 50mm Crons (w/o focussing tabs); 50mm Summilux (E43); 90mm Apo-Lanthar, MEM, Tele-Elmarit; 25mm ZM Biogon, among various others.

Cut the tube to whatever length is convenient. I usually carry a 50 and a 25 Biogon back-to-back in one tube, a CV Apo-Lanthar in another., and a 35 lens mounted on an M-body.

Not everyone's cup of tea, but I like it much better than any insert system I've found.
