explain your avatar

I was at the beach (just a few miles frommy home) and saw this majestic African American man in his beige cream coloered suit looking out to the sea on a beautiful day. Like I said, "Looking Good".
Question? Is he looking at the sea or the small child playing near his feet?

Me, posing with a Cuban style field-cap and a ballpen as substitute for cigar. Just a joke, because Fidel handed over command. Not intended as a political statement!

My avatar is Sponge Bob near my Zorki 4 with a Jupiter 8.
Sometimes I watch cartoons on TV, Sponge Bob seems to be quite funny.

Mine's a straight forward picture of me and my RF camera.

Rick W. - I don't know why, but Dr. Strangelove seems to suit your online persona to a tee!

You know, I seem to run into you everywhere.;)

I've always liked all of your avatars, but I especially enjoy your vacation avatar. :D

I had a young girl ask me the other day if my avatar was really a photo of me, and she was being serious. What the hell, I took it as a compliment.....

Mine is obvious to the initiated... For the others, it's one of the few photos of Chris Marker, director of La Jetée.

The photo was probably taken during Andreï Tarkovsky's funeral in Paris, as it is featured in Marker's documentary about Tarkovsky's last days.

If you want a good laugh, go look at the first entries in this thread and look at the current avatar and the description. :) Good example might be "this is me" with a photo of a motorcycle as the current avatar.

My current one, which may or may not be there when you read this, is Daria Morgendorffer. Back when the show was popular, some friends always said that I resembled Daria. I don't know if that is a compliment or not. :)

Blow Up!

Blow Up!

A picture of the character Thomas from the movie Blow Up!. The movie really excited me when I was younger. I watched and wanted to be that cool guy living fast, on the run, snapping pictures and bringing them back to his bachelor pad just in time to have a photoshoot with some "MOD" models and swallow a hndful of pills then go to a "Rave Up". NEVER HAPPENED.

My OTHER hobby... Though I don't have gear acquisition syndrome with classical guitar, it is a very time consuming and difficult hobby to pursue.

Mine is, of course, The Doctor, who gets out of scrapes more often with his brains than his brawn.

I thought I did this already, but if not, here goes...
<<<<<<this is a shot of "Ally" cat and her brother "Max" jumping behind her...
This would have been one of the first times they were allowed outside...
She ranaway about a year or so later...we still have Max...
My daughter thinks she sees Ally here and there...I believe she was coyote food a long time ago...not trying to be mean just facing the facts around here...

I got this Brownie Starflash Camera as a gift and always wondered what a picture taken with that big beautiful flash would look like. Unfortunately the camera did not work, so I sold it.

Brownie Starflash was my first camera, b'day gift age 8 or so. Always had a soft spot in my heart for those. Mine was the red model. :)
