neopan 1600 discontinued?

That would be horrible news had it been true - Neopan 1600 is one of those films that; at 1600; is great for contrasty situations (i.e. concert/theatre lighting).

I love that film and would gladly buy up some more from my local if it was being discontinued.

Well, glad to hear its not true! Sorry for fanning the flames, but I was starting to hyperventilate a little - I just love this stuff, so I was getting ready to fill a freezer full of the last remaining rolls 😀

Its odd that B&H would have incorrect information, but I suppose it happens. The guy on the other end sounded pretty knowledgeable. Lets see if the info on the web site gets corrected over the next few days...

I'm a little worried, too. NP1600 is my main B&W film.

I hope it's just being upgraded (though I'm not sure how it could be improved). It's not like B&H & Adorama to be so wrong about something like this.

That's too bad. I like that film but I'm not surprised - I've only shot a couple of rolls in the last few years.
I was speaking to a Fuji rep here in Canada this morning and he confirms Neopan 1600 is still in the lineup (here anyway).

It is also still for sale at Megaperls. Fuji discontinued NP1600 in bulk last year.

All Fuji (B&W) bulk film (30,5m/100ft) was discontinued last year but this package was not even available in Europe.

Neopan 1600 is still in production and unfortunately available in 35mm only. Great film, one of the best high speed films available at the moment.

We got a recent fresh delivery from Fuji in NP1600, so do not worry!

OK folks, B&H has corrected the status of the Neopan 1600 and it now shows "Out of Stock" as it should, instead of "Discontinued" (http://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/produ...79_Neopan_1600_135_36_Professional_Black.html)

Well... I shot the color Fuji once or twice, and must admit that for a film that fast, color and grain were't bad.

As for Neopan... if I develop it, the results ain't that great. I've gotten better results from pushing Agfa all the way to 1600 instead. But then, Fuji's film has the shortest developing time ever...

Who knows, may be I'll stock up on it.

1600 Press discontinued? Rats. I was using it for my daughter's sporting events. Guess I'll have to shoot their consumer 1600 speed, for as long as it's around anyway.

I REALLY REALLY don't want to have to invest in a DSLR and glass for her sports stuff. I have perfectly good film gear, and want to spend my meager photo allowance on RF gear. 😀

You might also want to consider trying Fuji's Natura 1600, which is better than Press 1600 anyway. Right now, it's only available in Japan, so it's kind of expensive to get in the States (via internet sellers like megaperls & eBay). Perhaps they will start exporting it as the official replacement for Press 1600.

Neopan 1600 is really quite nice for concerts. Less grain than HP5+ but not the tonality of Tri-X. But all three work very well.

Press 1600 and Superia 1600 are exactly the same. Press is only available in "Pro Packs." That's the difference. I don't know if there is any actual difference between Superia 1600 and Natura 1600, or if people just like the Natura better because it's harder to get. I emailed Fuji USA and Fuji Japan, the response from Fuji USA was that since they don't have the Natura, they don't know. I didn't hear back from Fuji Japan.
