Does anyone know the differences between the white box packaging and the silver/black packaging? Newer model? Same version?
Thanks

I think the white boxes were used from the early to late 90's, and the silver/black ones from then on. At least in the case of the Noctilux, both white and silver/black box lenses are the same version (last E60 version with built-in, sliding hood).
And these, in turn, should be the same version as the "last 100" Noctilux lenses, despite the lack of an exquisitely handcrafted humidor for packaging.

Most of the white box stuff is produced in Cuba, with a few from Ohio, and some occasional ones from the Malvinas.
Still good lenses and cameras.

You forgot to mention the silver-packaging versions, which are the lens made in Haiti at the orphanage run by the police department.*
*subtle(?) joke understood by FED owners.

That's all a rumor to throw people off track. They're produced in Haiti by restaveks.

Some of us are extracting the urine here.
Leica changed their packaging design a few years back.
End of story.
