What effect is there on film when you leave your UV/IR filter on when switching between the digital RFs (M8 and R-D1) and film RFs? On Color film? On B&W film?

on b&w film...nothing....I do it all the time and haven't noticed anything. On color films, if you're using anything wider than a 50mm you'll have some color shifts towards the edges of the frame from what I understand.

I thought that it was 35mm. For B&W, some say that due to IR bocking, it actually gives you a sharper result. I've tried but can't honestly tell the difference.
