How do you dry your roll film negatives ?

in as dust free an environment as i can find, wherever that may be...if i'm in my darkroom, i have a cabinet with some air filters, if i'm at home i just hang them in my shower.

I wedge a ruler or two in between the top of the door and frame leading to the loft in a bedroom and hang the negs from that with two (clothes) pegs on top and two at the bottom.

To counter curling, it is best to let them dry away from heat (e.g. a heater).

One final rinse in Kodak Photo-flo, then just hang them up over my laundry room sink (I have film hanger clips), wet my fingers in Photo-flo and use them for a final squeegee of the film (top to bottom) then attach the bottom weighted hanger clip to the end of the roll. Usually wait an hour or two and I'm all done.

I picked up a film dryer for a song on the local Craigslist, from a small photography business that was moving onto other things. It's got a filter and curtain to keep dust out, with adjustable air temperature. Great for the impatient. :D

I hang them up in a small utility room/work room, using weighted film clips, then leave the door closed overnight to minimise air currents.

I use a very tall film dryer. Set it to 90 degrees for 20 minutes, perfect. A long way from high school where we would just hang the film in the darkroom overnight.

In the bathroom with two metal clip hangers attached and let them dry in the air. They are usually quite curly (more in winter due to the dry air) but almost dust-free and scratch free. I use a wetting agent as the last rinse (Fuji) and don't remove the residual water from the final rinse.

I hang them up on pants coathangers with clips, two rolls on each hanger. usually in the shower. If I was travelling, then I would hang them in a bathroom, or just somewhere where there wasn't too much dust. That said I've never really had a problem with dust- the only dust I have in my scans is the dust inside the scanner.

1) Final rinse in distilled water.

2) Run the shower a couple of minutes.

3) let the dust setel - approximately 5min.

4) Hang film with metal clips, clothespins , ... - don´t squeegee the film.

5) Let dry about 8 hours (shut the bathroom door overnight:eek:)

as the final bath i use agfa agepon - wetting agent. It ensures even draining of the water off the film surface, so that no droplets, stains or streaks are left. film dries very quickly by the way.
