I had to sell my V700 with Betterscanning film holders before moving back to the Netherlands.
Now the dust of the international move has settled I got back into photography and bought a V850 scanner.
The original film houders suck and I wanted to order the ones with glass from Betterscanning.com. Unfortunately they do not reply to any order's, emails or even a letter I send to the home address where the URL and the business is registered. But there is no answer.
Meantime I modified my film holders by replacing the plastic with glass. But the 2mm glass prevents the film holder from clicking shut and I have to use gaffers tape to keep it closed while flipping it over in order to place it on the scanner bed.
I have made 2 pieced of black cardboard and cut a slot for the museum glass so I can sandwich the film between this glass in order to keep the negatives flat. Strangely enough the scanner wil not detect the film no matter what setting I choose. I also experimented by keeping the opening at the top clear to the same width as the negative holders do.
What magic am I missing here?
Oh and if someone knows how to get the Betterscannning film holders I would love to know!
Thanks!
