Hi
Is there any relationship between the number of the camera and the year it was made? Can I be sure that a camera with a number starting with 77... was made after one with a number starting with 63...
This may not be an important question, but I want to sell one of my two Yashica Electro, and both are equaly good-looking and very fine performers. Except for the serial numbers, it is difficult to tell them apart. Is it one of them younger than the other? If yes, should I get rid of the older one??? Or should I just throw a coin to decide?
Opinions welcome

I had a Yash GTN and a GT - the GTN's hotshoe was a non issue. I liked the older design of the GT that had a very different locking mechanism that I hadn't seen before, so I kept that one and sold the younger GTN. The GT I kept looked sleeker to me than the GTN, and I enjoyed using it more on some basic level, as well.

If yours are both the same in functionality and appearance, a coin toss is fine. But I cannot believe you don't like one better than the other. It seems impossible. I always have a favorite.

If they were $1000 cameras I'd say sell one and put the money somewhere else, but considering that the cameras are so common that they're only worth around $45 each, if you enjoy using them, why not keep them both? That way you'll have insurance against having one stolen, or dropping it on the tile floor, or dunking it in the lake, or forgetting the camera bag on the train, etc etc. [ altho I'd suspect the Electros would probably survive a drop onto the tile floor] A big plus also is that you'd have your own supply of spare parts to use if one breaks- just use the surviving one and use the other for future repairs.
