Leica LTM Comparative results from 1939 Summitar and 50mm Summilux ASPH - some examples

Leica M39 screw mount bodies/lenses
And here's a 100% crop from one of the Summilux shots "to prove to Gabor" that it's a pretty sharp lens ;)

This picture was taken at 0.7m at f/1.4 by the way.

Now what I`d like to see is a Summilux "shootout" from all three versions, shot on some real black and white film.....who can do this test?

Tom

PS: I bet the version one is similar to a Summarit, but version two and three now there`s were we will see some changes ;)

I've owned all three versions (four if you split version two into E43 and E46), but never more than one 50mm Summilux at a time... Now I only have the ASPH.

I agree, this would be interesting to see.

This is a 1948 coated Summarit shot on film (FP4+) at 2.8. Plenty sharp enough for me.
