Capture One doesn't see my M8.2

I posted this over at the Leica forum as well, but I'm hoping someone here may have an idea for a possible solution to my problem...

Happy Thanksgiving for those in the US (and Americans living abroad).

I just loaded up the Capture One v4.1 software that came with my M8.2 onto my 15" Macbook Pro, and I activated it. It seems to recognize my Leica D-Lux 3 just fine, and downloads accordingly, but I can't get it to see my M8.2 when I connect it with the supplied cable.

iPhoto does mount the camera fine, and can download the files. Does anyone have any idea what the problem may be?

Same thing with a new 8.2. No camera appears on either an Intel Mac or a Power Mac, despite what the manual says.
Iphoto sees the camera and imports (no use though). Capture One activates itself but sees no camera to import from.
Maybe it's us, not the system. Any suggestions?

Thanks. The other forum clears it up. It's in the cards. The italian firmware update is listed on rff is mainly about wider card compatibility. I'll look into that too. My reason for using a cable is because I don't want to unscrew the baseplate from the L-bracket I use for 3-stitch horizontals (try it, you'll like it).

downstairs, I will give that a try as soon as I get a tripod! It's actually something I've been researching. I think I'm going with a RRS ball head and a Gitzo CF tripod (13xx series). Looking forward to playing around with stitching and slow shutter work once I get set up. Thanks.
