Worth trying to repair it?

Hello
I was given this pretty Electro 35 MC. Very nice cosmetic condition (except for a missing rewind crank ), lens OK , shutter fires, but... with a fresh battery on, nothing happens.
I am willing to remove its top and look for something I can repair. Any hints or sugestions about what I am likely to find ? Is it worth trying to repair it ?
It is a cute little camera and if the pictures quality is at the level of other Yashicas I really would like to have it working.
Opinions welcome
Joao

Haven't repaired MC's myself, so this thread is going to be quite interesting. I'm not sure MC has POD, though.
Can we be sure contacts in batt. compartment are clean? Anyway, I'd start by removing bottom plate to check if wire is/are OK.

When repaired, you most probably, will love little great camera.

Contacts in the battery compartment are clean, I had gently rubbed them with a piece of small-grain sandpaper. Removing the bottom first seems a good idea, I will start there.

Thanks

I found it!!
Thanks btgc for your sugestion.
Removing the bottom was easy and I immediately found a loose wire connection to the battery compartment. I will have someone to solder it for me tomorrow (I'm not at ease with soldering procedures). I hope this is the only electric problem (fingers crossed!).

Chapter 2

Hi
Thanks btgc , for the link.
After soldering the loose wire at the battery compartment, the camera was still dead. I removed the top and immediately saw another loose wire:eek:.
A picture of the topless camera goes attached.
Not usual to have two distant unrelated loose connectons, the interior of the camera seems well preserved...
Another soldering job:confused:
Regards
Joao

Joao, that's really strange. But nothing to lose - it just should work. Etching to hear it works!
