Oh My! What used to scare the daylights out of me.
Oh My! What used to scare the daylights out of me.
When we arrived in New York From Cuba in 1960, those wicker seat Monsters were still in service. I used to dread when ever I had to take one. The single sliding door was impossibly heavy and daunting , and on more than one occasion I saw the look of panic of grownups trapped by the steel jaws of the monster. The uncaged fans sometimes wobbled as if at any moment they would come off and decapitate any one near by. They were; hot, noisy, smelly and shook your insides up like an Osteriser. I guess I will need to make a trip to New York and face my demon. It is the only thing that scares me more than The Cyclone.
