Hi, I am new. Doing my research after the fact ;) I bought a T2 on Ebay for $30 because of the Zeiss lens -- I did see the T4 but it was a lot more expensive! What's the difference?

Hi here!
I'm not into T-series, got only original T which had defect.

My speculations are - different lens (despite all wearing Zeiss and T*) and haven't checked, though probably T4 has more steps in AF and better flash, not aware early models have fill flash so useful on sunny days.

I think you made seller happy :)

The T4 was a "designer compact". Much more sleek and compact, and originally far more expensive than the T2 - but to cut down on the size they gave it a less good lens...

Hi Raid, Btgc, Sevo, Thank you for your replies! I am hoping that both Btgc and Sevo are right and that the two cameras do have different lenses and the T2s nicer ;-) Raid, it is a Yashica, not Contx -- anyhow must take some photos today and see how they come out!

A few years back...

I had the pleasure of a collection of the T* series from the T thru the T4/5 (with the prime 35mms, Kyocera added the T5 zoom later). They all were absolutely terrific point and shoots that delivered sharp contrasty prints. I don't believe that if I threw all the pics from the different models into a box, I could tell which ones came from which. Actually, the T4 handled metering slightly better.

Congrats! You'll enjoy it, I'm sure.

I love my Contax T3, it has an amazing character.

I'm working on a small (4 images) series shot in color one Sunday before Christmas, but it's not ready yet. The colors & sharpness of this little thing make images so lively and attractive. It has vignetting though, but I think it's part of the charm.

Morback - great photo with lovely contrast and tones. What film/developer combo is this? Thanks.

It's my first love: AGFA APX400 dropped off with a lot of hope and prayers at a shop in Manhattan.
It's also a drum scan, so it has an almost print-like quality (to me!).

For color shot with that tiny thing you can see my friend's pictures here. It's not quite the photography we're all used to here, but some show the character and color rendition.

The film used there is Kodak Portra NC.
