Wait a minute!

Had to double-check my personal collection, because it looks something like your photo.

I've still got mine....

Well, too bad about the Canonet, but the best use those disc cameras were ever put to.

Sad thing is, I think I can ID most of those cameras.

Crufty. Look in that person's garage/carport/backyard; I'll bet there's a car with cameras glued all over it... :)

This is cute. I backtracked it to its source and learned that this is in Berkeley, CA. Here's a small version with a link back to the owner's page, as a courtesy:

Las Vegas Metro PD ???

Were you charged with stealing photos off the net?

LOL, I put that variation up when the recent topics of getting arrested for taking photos started coming up.

Originally (to make a long story long) I did that one for one of the LV boards when the topic of sobriety checkpoints came up and I told the story of being stopped at one and being stupid enough to admit that I had a few of those watered-down casino drinks over the evening. (For those who don't know, these are the small low-potency drinks you get for free when playing in the casinos, and they are usually so watered down that a slurpee from 7-11 would give you more of a buzz!)

I was not detained or ticketed, but they had me out there walking a straight line and touching my nose and such while my so-called friends were laughing their @$$es off and enjoying the show! :( Very embarrassing!

How about this one?
Hey, I can see the Zenit-E SLR somewhere between them!

What I remember best about it was the smell.. Probably from the leather never-ready case. But say 'Zenit' and I've a strong recollection of what it smelled like.

And the other thing I remember was the mirror slap. It was so bad that it made the tripod stand up and walk away..

Rather nice camera though.. served me faithfully for over 20 years without a single hick-up.

Thanks for bringing back that memory ZorkiKat!

That's indeed a Zenit, but it's the "TTL" model, the predecessor to the more common "12".

Zenit are a lot of things, good and bad. But it's usually the bad that most people hear and know of them, hence the pervading negative reputation. Too bad, not many know of how excellent fine machines they really are, low cost and with respectable optics.
