Olympus 35DC-Thoughts?

Picked up one of these on the bay last night when I was looking for something else.. Silly GAS. I couldn't resist, I have a small obsession with oly rangefinders, and this was too good to pass up. It comes with original leather case, hood, and lens cap. Also with a strap, a new battery, and a skylight filter on the lens. The light seals have just been replaced, and they ran a roll through it and it works fine. The camera itself looks to be in fantastic condition.

I've been wanting a nice automatic camera like this, so we'll see how it works out. Anybody else using one of these? How do you find the exposure in tough situations?
 
I find it to be an excellent camera with the same excellent lens found on the venerable 35RD. I've also found the exposure to handle a pretty wide range of situations. In fact, the first time I used mine was Fall a couple of years ago, and I was shooting a lot of Fall foliage which meant a lot of shadows and bright areas combined. The 35DC handled it all very well, and the pictures were amazingly sharp with excellent contrast. I think of it as an auto-everything 35RD, and it's certainly in the top tier of my compact RFs. I don't care too much for the way the info is presented in the viewfinder though with all the numbers on the bottom; I think the 35RC has a better arrangement, but the camera itself is awesome. When I'm using it I don't miss the ability to manually adjust settings; it's great to sometimes just point, focus, and shoot, worrying only about my composition. The only automatic camera that I might like more is the Minolta Hi-Matic E, mainly because of the incredible Rokkor lens on it, the shutter speed range of 2sec-1/1000sec, and the great build quality, but the 35DC doesn't give up much to it. I hope you find one; there have been a few on the big auction site recently. It's really a very nice camera with a definite high-quality feeling to it, and the pictures are superb.

I've got a 35DC in very good shape, with a fresh battery installed, strap, and leather case. I like it very much, but would like something with a bit more control. Anybody interested in a trade, for maybe a 35RD?

I cheated and picked up a Minolta Himatic E with the 40/1.7 lens. Built like a rock and has moving frame lines for parallax compensation. All for £4!
