Some weeks ago I've found a Canon 50 1.2 LTM with no labeling or serial number at all. It looks exactly as the Canon 50 1.2, so it must be this lens. Anyone familiar with this ?
Here is a picture of this lens. The white spots are parts of inner black paint missing, which probably explains some serious flare when photographing into direct spotlight.
I'd agree with the above, it's definately a Canon F1.2. And my first impression was, I -like- the flare. And it's definately a torture test for any lens.
Is there any oil on the back group? If there is, you can clean it out yourself, in about ten minutes. And you will need to learn how to do this, so you can do it, every few years.
Well, I agree on that test. And I like the effect as well. I didn't know about this removable ring. The price was allright, 380 EUR, including the lens shade and a generic LTM adapter.
Some other pictures from the same film, HP5+, 800ASA. All at f1.2.
It's a 50mm 1.2 allright! Like it without the front lettering, kind of a stealth lens. Shots are very nice! except for the torture shot, but the flare there is to be expected, as others noted.
With all the extras and the stealth mode, a very good deal, I'd say. Enjoy it!
I'm thinking about selling this lens again and stick to the m-hexanon 50/2. Not that I don't like the results with this lens but I need to raise some funds for another camera-body. Price will be 400€, insured shipping included for EU.
