"How Not to Adjust a Bessa-R"

Unfortunately I am one of those foolish enough to ignore this fellow's advice about how not to adjust a Bessa R. I had to read on, grab my jeweller's screwdrivers, and tinkered with my R. Now I am plagued by a Bessa R with absolutely perfect vertical alignment of the RF patch. I no longer have the pleasure of trying to decipher whether I have focused correctly. I await your expressions of sympathy.

Pherdinand, I think we should each send Anon an email thanking him for his efforts.

Of course, since that address is bogus, all we'll get are bounces!

Hi Bobar57, The adjustment screws are under the protective plate in the hot- shoe. This is the trickiest part of the process and if you don't scratch either that plate or your camera, you are doing very well. The plate clips in place in the hotshoe and you have to carefully prise it up so that it can slide off the little contact in the hot shoe.
Working from memory here...
Once you have removed the plate and stopped crying because you slipped and scratched your camera, there are two or three little holes where the adjustment screws live.
"Don't force any of the screws too tightly and don't push down too hard". That was the advice our head bartender gave me when I had to do it.
I might have saved the web page the OP links to as a pdf but not sure.
