So, we all know the story: artificial lighting + dark synthetic fibres = bizarre magenta cast on the M8. The M8's unique IR-(over)sensitivity has been invaluable to me, given that I live with a knitting enthusiast who, sometimes, needs to differentiate between synthetic fibres and real wool yarns...

But, earlier today, I found a whole new use for the M8: in certain conditions, you can find out who, in any given room, has dyed their hair! Dyed hair, it seems, turns out as purpley as acrylic.

It certainly does! Was shooting a party with Nokton 50mm F1.5 without a filter and on some pics it was terribly purple on the host's hair! It depended a bit on the lighting direction, but had a lot of fixes to do.

Unusual camera that M8 ... another thing that I've discovered really sends it off it's trolly is certain types of timber coatings. I have an Ikea timber cabinet beside my desk that I keep all my camera gear in ... according to the M8 (filterless) it's a strange mauve colour! :p

Hehehehe... That just fits SO nicely in with the M-myth!

So now I can explain why I use an M8 almost exclusively - because it is the only camera that has an own opinion on quality materials, and shows it!

Great...

Is that Sara Palin?...

Not only that, I've discovered you can tell who is wearing a polyester wig. :D
