Hello all,

I would like to share some shots from my Summarit M test roll. I read a lot of mixed reviews on the net, but I guess this one is a keeper.

I shot with my M6 + Kodak BW400CN.

Hope you like it. They say it is a great lens to photograph women, so I decided to test it with my wife. 🙂

Thanks.

André

Very very nice! Looks like wide open. Are they full-frame, shown here? And can you tell us the condition of the lens? Many have a bit of haze inside. Thanks

This is very nice, Andre'. My Summarit may have some optical problems, so it gives me dreamy looking images.

Thanks for your comments.

Yes, these are full frame scanned with a cheap flatbed Epson V200.

My Summarit is in very good condition.

I never understood what a "harsh bokeh" is... I guess it is bad, isn't it? Anyway, I really liked the effect with the trees in the background.

wonderful light on the first one. imho, that kind of portrait lighting is handled beautifully by the summarit, often seeming to lift the subject a bit. very nice work!

Yes, very nice results and NO the bokeh is not harsh. Bokeh is way too subjective IMHO, for people to impose their own preferences on others. Some like swirly, I do, and some do not.

Now, try the same shots with color and you will be surprised at how the Summarit renders the images!

Nice shots, beautiful subject and nice "Leica glow", especially in the first one.

Bokeh is in the eye of the beholder ... the Noctilux would look similar.

Cheers,

Roland.

Nice ones Andre. I like the lens too, and I ignore the net 'experts'. Some like the look, some don't.

Nice rendering, although with some "busy" background in case of these leaves... However, one quarter merit to the lens, one quarter to the film (it would not be as smooth on FP4 or Tri-X) and one half to your wife... 🙂

Great photos and lovely lady too...
I have two summarits, the newer came yesterday, good condition, waiting for the first roll, the first summarit some specks, CLAd by Youxin, but the focusing ring stiff gave some pretty photos from my wife too 😉..
Bob..
