Dear all;

I just got my BW400CN back from the lab, I think they came out pretty good. I like the look compared to the digital ones ....

THESE ARE NOT WORK SAFE

I was too lazy to split the web site postings, these images are in the back 1/2 of the set.

Dear Moderator:

If this is against the cross posting rules, just let me know, and I won't do it again ...... They really are different images that I'm pointing too, so it's not REALLY a cross post!

As usual, C&C welcome!

Hi,
I like the picturres. Nice poses and great light.
But why use a big negative if you only utilise a small part of it?
I'd go in a bit closer.

Thanks for showing,

Michiel Fokkema

i dunno about michiel, but i quite like the negative space. Although i suppose u could add it in photoshop lol...

I much liked the most abstract ones, where you barely see the contours and softness of her skin. Well done!

One detail that did not seem right to me, is the fact that she wears make-up in a shoot that is focusing on natural tones and textures. (Obviously, this is only visible in the close-up frontal shots.)

Michiel;

These will are shot with a "normal" lens, and this model was a little bit skittish about letting me get close .... Right at the end of the shoot I got most of the close photos. If you look at the digital set, you will see that I did get close, but this was all done with zoom, and not physical proximity. For the moment, my film kit is wide and not long. The 90mm for the contax G1 is always an option though.

I'll give you my impressions; the strong contrast works well on some, but those where the face is present do not work so well - the facial details become too strong - almost sinister. I like the first one with your model on the carpet with the window frame shadows; I like your use of space on some of the others; where your model is reduced by the large amount of black. Well done.
